Day of Fun!

While Kevin was attending a nice wedding in Sarasota, Florida today (with grown-ups) I decided to take the kids on a 2-hour road trip north to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. I had heard good things about it, and I thought the kids would nap well in the car (which they did!) so I could enjoy a little bit of quiet on the drive. Brendan had a blast as usual, playing in the Playscape area (for the 5 and under crowd) and of course we spent the majority of our time in the All Aboard train exhibit. It was tough to get him to leave those trains! The hardest part of the trip was finding places to nurse Ryan while making sure Brendan was near - which included twice in the car, on the way up and back, and once in the kid play area since the older kids were "contained." We didn't even get halfway through the museum - I still wanted to see the Dinosaurs and the Carousel - but the 3 hours we were there was about my limit. I'd love to go again with Kevin and make a weekend out of it - hopefully this summer, once he is done with grad school. He is getting SO close!

Here are a few pics. It was nearly impossible to get him to pose for me!!

PS: Be glad you didn't come up here instead, the zoo was a crazy mess.

If you ever come to San Diego, you will have to take Brendan to the Model Railroad Museum in Balboa Park. Wall to wall model trains, plus train tables and buttons for the kids to push to make the trains go. Nathan will never leave when we go there.
